Buy “Illusion of Choice” Today!

This was a long time coming. Like really long.

My novel “Illusion of Choice” is available for pre-order from select retailers online. Please visit Amazon for more information on purchasing. If you purchase before April 7th, 2015, you can grab the book for $0.99. On April 7th, it will revert to its full retail price at $2.99, which I’d argue isn’t too bad.

This post is a hard one to write because it requires me to sell myself which I don’t really enjoy doing. I’d rather be observed of my merits than having to push people to see my skills. Unfortunately, I do want this book to have some traction, and for some reason, a paygate allows for that to happen.

I started this book as a teenager when I thought making video games were easy. It was a pretty big concept at 14, and I don’t think even today it’d have a chance at getting made. It had too many working parts. Somehow, underneath all those parts, I pulled out a story about an individual named David Warren whose life wasn’t what he wanted it to be. David just wanted a normal, simple life. From the onset of this story, we see even a simple morning cannot be normal for David. As the story progresses, we learn how far from normal his life really was and how he never had a chance to fit in.

The story has a lot of action, violence, profanity, I think some sex, but I try to do all of that as flavoring for the under arching story. I’m not done with this universe, but I think this is a great entry point.

If you decided to purchase the book, thank you very much. It means a lot to me, and probably more than you can realize. And if you enjoyed it, please submit a review. I know reviewing seems so tedious since people tend to only review stuff they hated, but it’d help me a lot to hear that people actually enjoyed something I did. Also, if you did enjoy it, feel free to share it with anyone you think may like it and forward them to my blog. I want readers more than anything else.

Blog 1 of 2: Updates on Stories

After finally editing stories 5 through 7, they are now posted in the reading section. I am going to back publish stories 8 through 16, which is due today. Now, that I have a good job lined up, I think I can focus my leisure time to writing and continuing this project.

As mentioned, I plan to wrap up a group of stories into an eBook which will serve as my donation issue should you like the stories offered. I am also working on publishing and republishing more of The Lake Chronicles before I continue writing future episodes. I think I have episode 1 – 3 complete, and Episode 2 was published leaving me with a little work left to do to hit that goal.

The next blog post will be an actual post about my new job and computer I just purchased, so I will try to keep these site updates spare.

Until then.

Well, my redesign is now complete. In the next few days, I will be adding more advertisers as well as finding methods of gaining traffic. This should be completed by Sunday at 7PM EST, when I will post my first Story of the Week.

I am really excited about this project as it will give me the chance to hone my writing abilities, expose myself to an audience, and most importantly, help me entertain people I wouldn’t have access to otherwise.

I am sure there will be many changes from now on, but I really hope that this site can become something fun and cool. I have a lot of plans down the pipeline, and I look forward to seeing where it goes.

That’s all for today’s update. Thanks for visiting my site.

Site Redesign Update

I am pretty happy with the layout I have so far for the site redesign.

One thing that has become apparent is that in order for this website to be an accurate representation of my writing and designing abilities, I will never really be able to have a completed website as I will constantly be tweaking bits and pieces. I also want to keep building samples until I have enough for a small book.

As of right now, I plan to be done my redesign by Friday or Saturday. I’ll adjust this blog to fit in with the rest of the site, add ads in the next few days (sorry), and probably start advertising the site the day it goes live. Everything will start pointing to the new URL at that point. I am burying my former pen name.

It’s pretty neat to have a single project I am thinking about and working on, and I am just getting started.

Since this may be a while…

Here’s my general mission statement, as well as my pending writing project:

As a young child who was fascinated with dreams, I looked forward to creating stories in these sleep environments. Though I wasn’t a consistently natural lucid dreamer as a child, I did view dreams as a creative outlet.

As I aged, I took this creative focus was aimed at the usual avenues for a 90s child: video games, movies, books, Internet. Writing has remained I truly enjoy, and I hope, through this website, to share my writing with a large audience.

Though genre writers are still looked down on, I see myself as a writer of dreams and nightmares. I enjoy writing stories that are outside the normal realm of possibility and limitations. I also like to write on ideas and stories that terrify the average reader in some way. Despite all this, I try to maintain realistic rules within each created environment. I’m paradoxical like that.

Writing has always, and as far as I can tell will always, be my passion and interest. I may not be the best, but I enjoy it. If I can entertain at least one person per attempt, then I’d call that a success.

If you need to contact me for any reason, please feel free. I will do my best to reply within 24 hours.

When my redesign is complete, I plan to post links to all my published stories (as permitted). After a determined period of time, I will upload the story to Kindle and other eBook websites. These will be virtually identical to the free posted story, save for an introduction that explains the story in some detail. My goal is to make these eBooks my donation version. If you like my stories, buy them and support me. If not, or you just don’t want to buy them, cool.

The same week that the redesigned site goes online, I will post the first story of my “Story A Week” project, ripped right off of Jonathan Coulton. I plan to make these stories independent, and each month or two, I will combine them to create a book. These books will be purchased through the eBook stories, and they will have their own introduction, discussing the stories together. Again, the stories will be free otherwise.

I hope this update excites any of my readers. I plan to make this a huge part of my life. Thank you for taking the time to visit.

We are temporarily under construction.

Welcome to my website.

If you are here from either Foliate Oak or Lucid Dreaming Exchange, welcome, and I apologize for now having this more put together. In the next few days, I should have a completed website with a new project (well, a reissued project).

In the meantime, please email me at the address posted in the publication if you can volunteer your artistic abilities. I will need artists for my stories/books for Kindle publication.

Thanks for coming, and I hope to have this updated soon.
